| Bio: | Name: Hestia Ophelia Jones Birth: September 27, 1972 Wand: 11” Holly. Unicorn tail hair. Bloodline: ¼ blood (Muggleborn dad, halfblood mum) Why? I love Hestia to itty bitty pieces. She's one of my favorites to play and it's been a while. What is said about your character on the lexicon? Hestia was a part of the Advance Guard that took Harry from the Dursleys, along with Remus and Tonks. She has black hair and pink cheeks. Who will they interact with? Tonks, Remus, Order members, mostly PB: Lauren Graham Sexuality: Heterosexual. Hestia never had much experience with relationships, preferring to play the matchmaker instead. However, she shares her best friend’s interest in older men, as she had a very large crush on Sirius Black, despite the haggard appearance when she first met him. She noticed that he was a very kind person and very mistreated in life, she only wanted a bit of happiness for him. She never got the chance to tell him, though. She does want children, though, and hopes to find love before she dies... again. Personality: Hestia loves to read. She will pick up almost any book and read it from cover to cover if no one stops her. She loves sitting in a garden and just losing herself in a book. Her favorites include Shakespeare’s works and romance novels. She’s quite the daydreamer as well. If she’s not reading, she’s staring wistfully out the window, so she tends to come off as a little bit spacey. If someone doesn't actually touch her, she won't be aware of their presence. She loves being out in the rain. She’ll go outside and dance, only to be sick for the next few days. She tries her best to remain happy throughout the hardest times. She tries hard to see the light in the dark times, but doesn’t always succeed. She loathes people who are closed minded and judgmental, especially blood-purists. She built up a low tolerance for that since she’d put up with so much of it growing up in Hogwarts. She won’t tolerate any kind of prejudice either, preferring to accept everyone for what they are. She is caring, but quick to annoy if you push the wrong buttons. She is rather clumsy and is prone to slipping on things (especially when it rains and she’s out dancing). She is overly sensitive and is offended easily, especially to insults and criticism. She tries to hide it, but that doesn’t work as well as she’d like it to. She is very protective of her friends and family, which is what prompted her to become an Auror. She is also rather trusting, to a fault. She'll believe almost anything from anyone if they're close to her, or if she wants to see the good in them that may not be there anymore. She is also rather honest, which tends to make people mad at her. She'll say what is on her mind (though only if it's about other people), even though it's tactless. She decided long ago that if she died by the hands of the Death Eaters, she would die fighting for something she believes in. She’s willing to make the sacrifice. Family - Parents: Katherine and Thomas Jones History from student days at Hogwarts to the present time: Hestia is a quarter-blood, to be technical, born to a Muggleborn dad and a halfblood witch. She had a relatively happy home life. There were the occasional spats, but nothing past the family arguments about keeping her room clean and silly things like that. She was an only child, so she was given all the attention and love. Her parents encouraged her to become an excellent witch and to practice acceptance of all blood types, as they found it an important thing for a young witch to understand. She attended Hogwarts in the same year as her best friend, Nymphadora Tonks and was also in Hufflepuff. She was a good student and excelled in almost every subject, though only due to her rigorous study habits. She was almost anal about making sure she knew just about everything. Since she was told about careers, she wanted to be an Auror. She knew it would be difficult for a female to get that job, which made all the more appealing to Hestia. Hestia was involved in the Charms club at school, since it was one of her favorite subjects. She enjoyed being in school and wouldn’t trade her times there for the world. Even with the bad times like bad grades and staying up too late studying, or even house rivalries and being called stupid by the Slytherins she loved it. She especially cherishes the friends she made there, which is what she decided was her reason for fighting the Dark Lord. She achieved her dream after leaving Hogwarts. She did very well in training and on her exam to become a fully fledged Auror. Since then, she always put her work first. She got several offers for dates, but work always conflicted, so she had to decline. She never put romance first, especially because she knew that she could easily be next on a Death Eater’s list, since she also joined the Order while she was still a trainee. When the Dark Lord returned, she was even more motivated to help end the war. Her first distraction from that goal came in the form of Sirius Black. As haggard as he was and despite the fact that he was far older than she was Hestia fell head over heels almost immediately. She never told anybody about it, not even Tonks, since she couldn’t really explain herself besides the fact that Sirius had a good heart and she thought he deserved a bit of happiness. She never got the chance to tell him, as he was killed in the Battle at the Department of Mysteries. She was devastated, but she felt that she had to go on. It gave her more of a reason to want to end the war. She hoped that maybe next time she fell in love (if it happened) that there would be no chance of him getting killed by someone like Bellatrix Lestrange. Hestia participated in the Final Battle at Hogwarts and admired the bravery of the students, especially Harry Potter and his friends. She wanted to settle down after the war, but work as an Auror, cleaning up the streets of remaining Death Eaters was enough at the moment. She had just been asked on a date by a man she had fancied for a long time and they were to go out that evening, but there were some Death Eaters she needed to take care of. They hit her with a killing curse just as she was beginning to think things were changing for the better. Who does your character support? Government. She isn't for a muggle takeover, but it's a front while she determines who is really in the right. | |||||||||
